I live in Bellevue, WA and I just moved here. We registered a Sole Proprietorship in Bellevue. Now the WA department of revenue sent a letter to ask filing business tax each quarter. We just started the business 2 months ago (Dec 2011). We had a bunch of startup expenses though. So my questions are: 1. With very simple case like this (some startup expenses and no revenue), should I just mark as "No Business" in dor.wa.gov tax website? 2. When I live in CA, we combined expenses of business to the annual tax refund. Should I do the same like in WA? Or do I file expenses separately on quarterly? 3. Why is there Bellevue city tax and WA state tax I have to do for the business? It's very confusing. Can someone explain how this works in a simple way?... Read More »
